Minister's Message

There’s no denying that in the current climate, NSW Small Business is doing it tough. Many business owners are focused on working out how to survive, an important part of survival is finding your competitive edge and planning for a better future.

The NSW Government is supporting NSW business and NSW jobs from the global financial crisis by investing in a better future and investing in our local economy. We’re investing $56 billion over the next four years in infrastructure – an investment that will underpin 154,000 jobs each year. There is $1.6 million being spent on infrastructure, every hour, every day.

The NSW Government is also investing in the future of Western Sydney manufacturers by proudly supporting Western Sydney Manufacturing Week, 18 -22 May.

I encourage manufacturers large and small to come to an event, a site visit, or a seminar during this week-long celebration of manufacturing.

Our experts are ready to pass on their tips and timely advice. Manufacturers who open their gates for a site visit will show how they apply innovation as part of their winning formula.

I look forward to meeting you during this important week, and I urge you to search for an event which might help you strengthen your competitive edge.

The Hon Steve Whan MP
Minister for Small Business
